Ces recommandations ont \u00e9t\u00e9 bas\u00e9es sur des \u00e9tudes utilisant le bilan azot\u00e9, une technique qui estime le rapport de cette prot\u00e9ine par rapport \u00e0 l&rsquo;utilisation de <strong>la consommation de prot\u00e9ines<\/strong>. Or cette m\u00e9thode dont on se sert le plus souvent pour d\u00e9terminer les besoins en prot\u00e9ines serait&nbsp;inexacte. Elle surestimerait l\u2019apport en azote par rapport \u00e0 son \u00e9limination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cette nouvelle technique bas\u00e9e sur l\u2019oxydation des acides amin\u00e9s, s\u2019int\u00e9resse \u00e0 un acide amin\u00e9 en particulier choisi comme un indicateur. Si la prise de prot\u00e9ine est insuffisante tous les acides amin\u00e9s sont oxyd\u00e9s, si la prise de prot\u00e9ines alimentaires augmente, l\u2019oxydation sera beaucoup plus lente et progressive. Et il existe un seuil d&rsquo;\u00e9quilibre entre les deux qu&rsquo;il faut mesurer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>D\u2019apr\u00e8s une \u00e9tude ant\u00e9rieure de 2007, o\u00f9 les participants adultes avaient re\u00e7u des concentrations de prot\u00e9ines allant de 0.1 g \u00e0 1.8 g\/kg, les besoins moyens avaient \u00e9t\u00e9 estim\u00e9s \u00e0 1.2 g\/kg soit 33% plus \u00e9lev\u00e9s que les RDA actuelles (0.8g).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dans cette nouvelle exp\u00e9rience, on a donc pris en compte les besoins des athl\u00e8tes confirm\u00e9s en mesurant l\u2019oxydation de la ph\u00e9nylalanine. Et il s\u2019est av\u00e9r\u00e9 que les besoins estim\u00e9s pour ces athl\u00e8tes de force \u00e9taient au minimum plus proches de&nbsp;2g\/kg de poids de corps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cette&nbsp;technique avec l\u2019indicateur d&rsquo;oxydation des acides amin\u00e9s (IAAO) base ses estimations sur les <strong><a href=\"\/conseils\/proteines\/combien-proteines-par-jour\/\">besoins en prot\u00e9ines<\/a><\/strong> par rapport \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9puisement des acides amin\u00e9s essentiels. Les mesures IAAO sugg\u00e8rent que les exigences minimales en prot\u00e9ines auraient \u00e9t\u00e9 sous-estim\u00e9es de 30 \u00e0 50%. Une revue de la litt\u00e9rature dirig\u00e9e par Paul Pencharz de l&rsquo;Universit\u00e9 de Toronto au Canada a conclu que la RDA devrait \u00eatre augment\u00e9e de 1,5 &nbsp;\u00e0 2,2 g de prot\u00e9ines de haute qualit\u00e9 par jour.
