Olimp Sport Nutrition ’s ZMA (120 capsules) is a dietary supplement in capsule form that combines magnesium, zinc, and vitamin B6 in a formula designed for athletes and bodybuilders. A daily serving of 3 capsules provides 450 mg of magnesium, 30 mg of zinc, and 10.5 mg of vitamin B6, including a patented source of zinc, L-OptiZinc®.
Magnesium is the most abundant active ingredient in the formula. With 450 mg per serving, it supports normal muscle function, normal energy metabolism, and the reduction of fatigue. It also supports normal nervous system function and electrolyte balance. These functions are particularly important for those engaged in regular sports activities and intense training.
The product also provides 30 mg of zinc per serving, which is 300% of the Reference Intake. Zinc helps maintain normal testosterone levels in the blood, supports normal protein synthesis, and contributes to the normal functioning of the immune system. It also helps protect cells against oxidative stress.
It is therefore primarily these recognized nutritional functions that make zinc a key component of this formula. Finally, each serving provides 10.5 mg of vitamin B6, which is 750% of the Reference Intake. Vitamin B6 contributes to normal protein and glycogen metabolism, helps reduce fatigue, and helps regulate hormonal activity.
It thus logically complements the zinc-magnesium combination. The formula uses several mineral sources. Zinc comes primarily from zinc sulfate mono-L-methionine (L-OptiZinc®) and zinc L-aspartate, while magnesium is provided in the form of magnesium salts of citric acid and magnesium oxide.
Vitamin B6 is present in the form of pyridoxine hydrochloride. It is particularly easy to take, as a single daily serving is sufficient.
