Applied Nutrition ’s Critical Plant Protein (450 g) is a vegan protein powder designed to help you meet your protein needs without animal proteins or dairy products. Its formula combines three plant-based sources: soy protein isolate, pea protein isolate, and brown rice protein. This combination allows for a variety of sources and provides a complete amino acid profile, including the BCAAs naturally present in protein—such as leucine, isoleucine, and valine.
A 30-gram serving provides over 24 grams of protein. Protein contributes to the growth and maintenance of muscle mass, making it a great option to support muscle gain, maintain your protein intake during a cutting phase, or simply supplement your meals when your diet doesn’t meet your needs. For the Chocolate flavor, one serving provides 24.61 g of protein per 106.6 kcal, with 1.95 g of carbohydrates and 0.07 g of sugars.
Nutrient values may vary slightly by flavor. The 450 g size is equivalent to about 15 shaker servings: it’s a convenient choice for trying out the formula, mixing it up with your other protein sources, or keeping a portable packet on hand. It fits easily into your gym bag, travel bag, or office bag, without having to commit to a larger size right away.
Critical Plant Protein is suitable forvegans and vegetarians. Theformula is also advertised as dairy-free and is Halal-certified by the brand. However, it does contain soy and is therefore not suitable for people with soy allergies. Since it’s manufactured in a facility that also processes milk, eggs, and gluten-containing grains, it should be avoided if you have any of these allergies, as indicated on the packaging.
As for flavors, Chocolate offers a rich, indulgent cocoa note, ideal for dessert-style recipes and shakes. Strawberry adds a touch of sweet, fruity strawberry, while Vanilla features a lighter vanilla flavor that’s easy to pair with your smoothies, porridge, or homemade recipes. When mixed with water, you get a lighter texture that’s quick to drink. When mixed with a plant-based milk, the shake becomes smoother and creamier.
