L-carnitine is an amino acid found mainly in red meat. Carni-Complex is a combination of the two most popular forms of carnitine: L-Carnitine tartrate and acetyl-L-carnitine. While L-carnitine tartrate is water-soluble, acetyl L-carnitine is another liposoluble (fat-soluble) form of this nutrient.
By facilitating the transport of fatty acids into the cell's mitochondria (a kind of mini-power station), endogenous carnitine enables dietary fats to be more easily converted into energy.
This amino acid helps release energy from fats by transporting them into cells, where they are burned as fuel. This is how mitochondria produce the energy cells need to survive and function properly. Physical activity or certain ingredients have the power to boost the mitochondria's ability to burn fat.
