Taurine (90 caps) is an amino acid developed by the brand Scitec Nutrition.
Taurine is a "non-essential" amino acid. Taurine is considered a sulfonic amino acid. It is found in the brain, retina, muscle tissue and organs. It can be supplemented through the diet, and is also found in animal foods such as red meat, fish, fruit and eggs.
Contrary to popular belief, taurine is not a dangerous substance unless consumed in excess.
Taurine has a number of benefits for athletes, boosting performance and reducing oxidative stress. Among other things, it reduces catabolism and increases muscle building (anabolism). In other words, it helps to promote recovery.
After muscular effort, particularly endurance effort, the concentration of taurine in the body is lower. This is because this amino acid derivative is used by muscle tissue during exercise. This means that muscles need taurine to function at their best, and to aid recovery after exercise.
