Casein is the other protein derived from cow's milk, of which it represents 80%, the remainder being whey. It's an excellent option among protein powders, with the distinctive feature of slow assimilation for gradual release of amino acids beneficial to building muscle mass or weight loss.
It is particularly useful during lean periods, toprevent the body from drawing on proteinreserves during calorie restriction phases. It can also be taken as a supplement to whey, to maintain a constant anabolic window and promote muscle gain!
